IECEP joins internet industry giants such as APNIC, .asia, ICANN, .org, Article 19, and ISOC in the Manila leg of the Asia Pacific School on Internet Governance.

The school is an intensive 3-day program participated by government, regulators, industry representatives, and civil society organizations in discussing Internet Governance.

IECEP was tapped as a local host given the number of participants with electronics engineering backgrounds. Notably, several alumni of the school included IECEP members and officers in their various private capacities.

The school benefits participants by imparting valuable knowledge and information in the field of Internet governance, which includes connectivity, policy-making, plan development, and other infrastructure-related discussions.

Several other interrelated meetings such as the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) are designed to meet the various perspectives shared during APSIG. IECEP members participating in APSIG are also being opened to the horizon of participating in such standards-making organizations and processes.

This partnership allows the Institute to be with key internet stakeholders and is a prelude to the Philippines' commemoration of 30 years of connectivity in the country next March 2024.

Fellowships to these programs are open to electronics engineers and members of IECEP.

This initiative is conceptualized through the efforts of the Corporate Relations and External Affairs of the Institute chaired by the Vice President for External Affairs Engr. Benjz Gerard M. Sevilla.

The organizers relayed their appreciation to IECEP and hoped to see more electronics professionals participate in important discussions in setting the future of the Internet.

Mabuhay IECEP!
