Public Statement of IECEP Inc. on Engineering as Linchpin for Philippine Bilateral Relations as Delivered in the SONA
A few months after the 2nd State of the Nation Address (SONA) was delivered by Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., we are witnessing key growth and development indices reflecting the route the country is headed in terms of digital technologies.
IECEP takes emphasis on the President's pronouncement on the significance of bilateral agreements with other countries for engineering and IT.
IECEP, as the accredited integrated professional organization of Electronics Professionals is a member of the Philippine Technological Council (PTC), the country's registrar for advanced-level engineering, such as ASEAN and APEC, giving way for Filipino electronics professionals to gain recognition in practicing abroad. Similarly, through mutual recognition agreements (MRA), The Institute's foreign chapters are key to expanding the horizon of key engineering disciplines such as electronics engineering which is a functional segment in achieving the President's pronouncements of a developed engineering landscape for digitization of the Philippines, beginning with the government.
In the same vein, IECEP has successfully conducted international conferences on Technopreneurship and Artificial Intelligence in Singapore and Dubai, United Arab Emirates respectively. Participated by resource speakers from the Philippine Government, industry experts, and key personalities, these institutional initiatives are direct responses to the call of the government to uplift the engineering profession, including that of ours, which is electronics engineering.
IECEP rallies its support behind these specific goals of the administration to leverage international cooperation to better the status of engineering in the country and to promote home-grown talents by establishing research and development centers, participation in international technology standardization activities, and capturing various market segments to capitalize on the engineering and IT talents of Filipinos.
Further, the Institute lauds its members who are based in foreign countries, and renews its commitment to supporting their needs to continually practice their profession through its Global ECE Committee. IECEP is also slated to finalize the establishment of new foreign chapters including that of Europe, Australia, and other regions where there is concentration of electronics talents.
